Welcome to the first distillery to be established in the Margaret River Region.
Once a plot of land in 1995, evolving over 20 years of experimentation and innovation, The Grove have created a range of award-winning artisanal spirits in Wilyabrup, WA.
They source the best botanicals nearby, or around the world, using barrels which once housed wines, ports or other drops from this region. They've taken their spirits across the globe, winning national and international awards for Organic Absinthe, Coconut Rum, Honey Corn-Mash or Single Malt Whisky, and that’s only naming a few.
The Grove Distillery is located in Wilyabrup, in the heart of the world-class Margaret River Wine Region. The property was purchased in 1995 by Steven Hughes. Steven first started producing wine, planting 30 acres under vine.
He then diversified into spirit-based liqueurs, acquiring a traditional copper still from Germany and establishing the first ever distillery in the Margaret River Wine Region.
The Grove began making vodka, gin and spirit based liqueurs such as limoncello and nocino. James Reed, a Distiller who had recently immigrated to Australia and landed in the region soon joined the team and today The Grove are making a variety of awarded spirits.
The Grove have been successful in achieving a swag of both national and international awards for their top shelf spirits, organic absinthe and coconut rums (just to name a few), Steven and his head distiller James Reed are not content with only making one or two spirits. You will find a whole variety that pushes boundaries and explores different flavours and methods of producing, particularly when barreling and ageing our spirits in unique ways.
