Western Australia’s most loved swim

Busselton Jetty Swim is held annually on the second weekend of February and features a 3.6km solo swim around the iconic Busselton Jetty– the southern hemisphere’s longest timber-piled jetty.

The full weekend program includes a range of swimming events, with distances to suit every age and ability, plus free activities and the family-friendly Busselton Jetty Swim Sunset Concert featuring Australian indie-folk duo Salt Water.

Considered by many to be Western Australia’s most loved open water swim, Busselton Jetty Swim attracts more than 5,000 participants each year. And the experience doesn’t end at the finish line – extend your stay to enjoy the Margaret River Region’s breathtaking beaches, endless outdoor adventures, and exquisite food and wine.

Distances

  • Solo Swim – Signature 3.6km swim around the iconic Busselton Jetty. (Sunday 8 Feb)
  • One Mile Swim to Shore – walk to the end of the jetty, swim 1.6km to the beach (Sunday 8 Feb)
  • 2 or 4 Person Teams – Grab your friends and swim a combined distance of 3.6km. Team members swim the same course, starting, finishing and transitioning on the beach (Saturday 7 Feb)
  • Simon’s 500m Shortcut – Take the shortcut UNDER the jetty. Perfect introduction to open water swimming or for anyone looking for a fun, social swim with family and friends. (Saturday 7 Feb)
  • Kids Swim – younger swimmers can join the festivities with a 220m swim around the Busselton swimming jetty. (Saturday 7 Feb)

Entry Information

To cater to overwhelming demand, entry for the 3.6km Solo Swim and One Mile Swim to Shore events is via a ballot system. The ballot will be open from 1–8 October 2025, with unsuccessful entrants placed on a waitlist.

Entries for the Kids Swim, Team Relays, and Simon’s Shortcut (500m) open on 15 October 2025 and remain open unless sold out.
