Wayfinder Winery & Farm is where the wine is grown, made and tasted on a single certified organic vineyard in Cowaramup. The winery is built into the ground, set into a former turkey-nest dam. It's fully off-grid and solar-powered, drawing on the landscape itself for temperature control. Grapes are received at ground level, with gravity carrying the juice to concrete tanks below, allowing for a more gentle, thoughtful approach to winemaking.
The Cellar Door is open for wine tastings, seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm. Call in for a relaxed pour at the bar, or settle in over a glass or bottle from the Wayfinder and Swell Season ranges, a short walk from the vines that grew them. Bottles are available to take home or ship across Australia, and no bookings are needed. Simply walk in.
Beyond the winery and cellar door, the property encompasses 37 hectares of vines, a market garden that feeds the kitchens, beehives, an orchard, and a mob of sheep, alongside commissioned works by Australian artists set throughout the building and grounds.
Executive Chef Brendan Pratt has curated a seasonal, farm-to-table menu in the Dining Room, built around produce picked steps from the kitchen, available as a Tasting Menu or à la carte. Casual, sharing-style dining on The Lawn follows from 25 September.
Walk in any day for a tasting. Restaurant bookings open Wednesday to Sunday 11:30 am to 3 pm.
