‘Catching Whispers’ | Gai Saunders exhibition opening
Description
Visual artist Gai Saunders is showcasing paintings, sculptures and mixed media pieces at The Bond Store, Old Courthouse Complex in Busselton with a solo exhibition titled “Catching Whispers”.
Working from her home studio in rural South Western Australia, Gai Saunders brings together a mix of fine art, craft and storytelling.
‘Catching Whispers’ comes more than three decades since Gai’s last solo exhibition and introduces fresh themes she has been exploring in her work.
Gai’s work has been recognised in many art awards and most recently was selected from 18,000 entries worldwide for the 2025 Royal Academy of the Arts Summer Exhibition in London, UK.
This show blends the theatrics of a mini stage-set style landscape installation with traditional wall paintings and three-dimensional sculptural pieces. All works have been influenced by nature with a merging of the real with the imagined.
The exhibition runs from 2 to 27 April. The official opening on Saturday 11 April from 2pm to 4pm.
