Description

Wild Bilya Playback Theatre Troupe

(Bec Schofield, Sari Bennett, Dawn Pascoe, Anu Grace, Janine Oxenham & Amy Johnstone)

Stories are the lifeblood of any culture. Personal stories reveal and connect people to themselves, to one another, and to a shared understanding of what it means to be human. Playback theatre offers a unique and engaging way to listen to and honour community stories. Drawing on moments shared by the audience, the troupe transforms them into spontaneous music and theatre, creating opportunities for joy, empathy and connection. Based in Wooditchup Bilya, Wild Bilya Playback Theatre is an innovative troupe dedicated to exploring contemporary issues through community storytelling and performance.

“I laughed! I was teary. I was opened up. After it all I felt so connected!”

This special event will explore the stories of young people and elders, bringing generations together to reflect on a changing world while fostering hope, understanding, and connection at Arts Margaret River

Guest speaker Dr Sue Wareham OAM, National President, Medical Association for Prevention of War.

Presented by Transition Margaret River and the Medical Association for Prevention of War.
