Get out of the car and into the photo, have a whole lot of fun experiencing Margaret River’s great outdoors while tasting some of the regions wines and meeting the people who make them!

It’s the wine and nature lovers’ experience with the works. Limited to only 6 guests, travelling in a luxury 4WD, this is the tour for people who don’t do tours.

We demystify the French wine concept of Terroir and discover why Margaret River produces some of the world’s best wine. Connect with nature then match your favourite wine with fresh local produce while we lunch in the barrel room at one of the region’s emerging superstar wineries.

  • Start the day with a canoe trip down a stunning section of the tranquil Margaret River. You won’t get wet, dirty or fall in. It’s a peaceful beginning to our day of highlights.
  • We then head to the beach to see how the winemakers relax – a coffee while we check the surf at one of the region’s top beach breaks.
  • Our next stop is an ancient waterhole to spot freshwater Marron and wildlife and to taste local honey while we reflect on Aboriginal history dating back more than 30,000 years.
  • Lunch at one the region’s most celebrated emerging superstar wineries –Fraser Gallop Estate – is our next highlight. We have exclusive access to the working winery and vineyard and savour some of the best wines in the region matched with local produce while seated among barrels of ageing wine.
  • We finish our day with a 4WD adventure and walk on a spectacular section of the Cape to Cape Track – the Wilyabrup Cliffs. We have special government approval to use a 4WD track that offers stunning cliff top views. High above the Indian Ocean the epic scenery, fresh sea breezes and surrounding ancient soils provide a deeper understanding of the unique terroir of the Margaret River region. Dolphins, sharks, whales, kangaroos, eagles and wildflowers are seasonal, but all possible.

Live like a local on a Margaret River Discovery Tour and let WA Guide of the Year – Sean Blocksidge- take you out of the car and into the photo!

I could not recommend this tour enough!!! We visited in January on our honeymoon and it was a highlight of our first time in Australia! We are an adventurous couple, but we also enjoy the finer things in life – we were not disappointed! We had coffee on the beach, canoed the river, had a private tour of Fraser Gallop Estate followed by wine tasting and lunch in their barrel room. We finished off by stopping by a gorgeous “secret” location on the Cape to Cape Track.Sean is an incredible guide! He only takes small, intimate groups on the tour and we all felt like immediate friends. He was passionate about showing us Margaret River. Throughout the day we stopped several times to enjoy the beauty of the area and the wildlife – he is extremely knowledgeable, which was great as we come from the states and had a ton of questions! He even gave us an itinerary to follow the day after the tour to really get the most out of our time there. Above and beyond!!As an extra bonus, Sean takes incredible photos along the way! They are some of our favorites from our honeymoon!

Having lived locally in Margaret River for over 10 years, I finally took the opportunity to tour with Sean when a friend came to visit from Melbourne. Sean’s, stories, descriptions, thoughts and knowledge are by far what sets hit apart from the bunch, backed up by an “off the beaten track” style of tour, MRDC hands down has my seal of approval. A real connection with the region and you really feel like you’ve discovered the true essence of this little corner paradise of the globe. Do yourself a favour, stop searching trip advisor, this is THE BEST tour on offer in Margaret River, you’ve found it, click book now, NOW!

What a fantastic day we had with Sean. As it said in the description it is a tour for people who don't like tours and i definitely don't usually! It was exactly what we expected and more. Sean is a great guide and a fountain of knowledge about everything to do with the region, from the history (recent and indigenous), the area and most importantly the wine, the whole day was about the guests and the activities which really makes it!! I would recommend this to anyone who visits the area!

Awesome day out with Sean - so much better than the usual wine tour! Love showing off WA to my Sydney based family and this did it perfectly. Favourite tour I've done in Margaret River... Perfect blend of wine and the spectacular scenery of the region, highly recommend

Where do I start? What a tour, and I hate tours! Booked this last minute (like 8pm the night before), and Sean was super helpful and very accommodating. The day started out with a nice relaxing kayak along the Margaret River, and if you're travelled or stressed then this is the best way to begin and unwind. What followed was great coffee at the ocean, a visit to a local waterfall with appreciation of local history and culture, a private wine cellar lunch with gourmet fresh local food and some beautiful wine, and all topped off with a scenic walk along the ocean cliffs with a picture taken by Sean worthy of going straight to the pool room. Thrown into the mix was Sean's faultless knowledge of the local flora and fauna, history, and not to mention wine, after all, this is a wine tour! Whilst this is off-season, and I imagine a private tour like we were so lucky to have is not a common theme during the peak summer period, I can not recommend this enough, and did I mention that I hate tours? Except this is a tour with a twist! If you want to get to know what beautiful surprises Margaret River has to offer then this is for you; whenever I drink a good drop of Margaret River wine my mind will be cast back to the highlights of this special experience.
