"Here's an update as they decided not to sweep the excess gravel after looking at it recently, 2 months later. It's still all along the edges, on the centre of the road and at heavy at some intersections. The people involved at the time said it's usually swept after a few days, so is this the new policy to save even more money after a cheap resurface? The traffic gets to sweep the gravel and cop the consequences of broken windscreens, body damage and injuries that result." Great staff on reception but the department maintaining the local roads could do with some improvement. When they resurface a road and save money by using gravel on tarmac instead of bitumin, they need to sweep the excess gravel off the road as soon as possible to minimise the damage to vehicles and the risk of injury from the flying stones. Wildwood was recently resurfaced this way and they promised it would be swept by today but now they've extended that by at least a month. That's totally unacceptable and poses a serious extended threat to everyone that uses that road, especially cyclists.
