The Quarries

The Quarries beach is near Cape Naturaliste, and is where the limestone for the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse was quarried early last century. The surf break is a sheltered reef break with fairly consistent surf. It's a left-hander, best in winter.
Most of the surf here comes from groundswells with the best swell direction from the west-southwest, and winds offshore from the southwest. Relatively few surfers here, even on good days. It's a great wave at any stage of the tide. Watch out for submerged rocks.
