Millers Little Ice Cream Shop
Millers Little Ice Cream Shop
In the heart of Cowaramup, within the iconic Margaret River region, Millers Ice Cream continues to serve up some of the freshest, handmade Gelato this side of the equator – now from a charming shop right in the centre of town.
The Miller family story began in 1926, when 19-year-old Sandy Miller emigrated from Scotland in search of a brighter future. He settled in Cowaramup, clearing land and building a life with his wife Joy. Generations later, his grandson Paul and wife Trish put a new spin on the family’s farming legacy – using their own fresh milk to craft small-batch ice cream on the farm.
For nearly a decade, Millers became known for their farm-based ice creamery. In 2020, they made the difficult decision to stop milking, but the legacy lived on. Ice cream is still lovingly made on the family farm, using 100% full cream milk sourced from the lush paddocks of the South West. The Millers remain proudly connected to the land and continue to support the local dairy industry – just with a cone in hand instead of a milking bucket.
Today, Millers Ice Cream scoops up joy daily in their vibrant Cowaramup shop, where over 30 rotating flavours of creamy goodness are served in cups, cones, or thick old-school milkshakes. Vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and egg-free options ensure there’s something for everyone.
Though the setting has changed, the heart remains the same: good old-fashioned service, a commitment to quality, and a whole lot of fun. Whether you're a curious traveller, a day-tripper, or a local with a sweet tooth, Millers is a must-stop for a truly local taste of Margaret River.
