In 1999, father and son, Spike and Ray Fokkema, established Churchview. The 100-hectare estate has, over the early years, accumulated a total of 56 hectares of vines, growing 16 different grape varieties. Churchview pride themselves on Cultivating, Crafting and Cherishing the land, the grapes, and the wines.
(Cultivated) It is a well-known fact that the creation of a great bottle of wine, starts in the vineyard. Churchview has worked hard over the last 20 years to convert the vineyard from a full conventional, to a certified organically operated vineyard. Our philosophy behind the cultivation of our vines is simple - treating the envirionment with respect and maintaining healthy soils, with organic principals, will ensure the production of pure and quality fruit.
(Crafted) Winemaking - an art and a science, which arguablely amounts to craftsmanship. Churchview aim to craft each bottle as a reflection of the site, and to speak about the vintage, the climate, and the array of flavour profile each season brings.
(Cherished) As wine enthusiasts, we want to share our products with other wine enthusiasts. Whether it's a daily glass over an evening meal, a bottle shared over a romantic dinner, or wine with a family feast - we want our wine to mark an occasion for you to cherish.
