Saturday & Sunday Series with Melissa Palinkas
A limited weekend collaboration. 30 May - 5th July 2026.
New chapter, same place. After 50 years in Wilyabrup, Margaret River, the next chapter is underway. New experiences at the cellar door and wines that continue to be made with finesse and a deep respect for the region. Willespie is a place worth finding. Pull up a chair. You're welcome here.

Tucked into the heart of Wilyabrup, Willespie has been quietly making some of Margaret River's most honest wines for nearly 50 years. Founded in 1976, the estate is home to some of the region's oldest dry-farmed vines - tended with the same care and respect for the land that its original founders brought to every vintage.

Three distinct wine ranges - Homestead, a familiar place; Wilyabrup Reserve, a place of its own; and Flying Machine, a new place to explore - sit alongside a cellar door experience and wine bar designed for real connection: communal tables, vineyard views, and the kind of unhurried hospitality that makes you want to stay a while. Bar snacks showcase local produce. Walk-ins welcome, kids welcome, dogs welcome.

We dropped in just before closing as we were driving past and nothing was too much trouble. A temporary cellar door down stairs made a lovely ambience whist renovations continued upstairs. The Shiraz and black Jewel fortified came home with us. Old school wines with depth and flavour I was glad we dropped in.

Boutique winery offering diverse range of reds, whites, rose and fortified wines made in old school style. Wine tasting was informative and relaxed. View from deck across Valley is stunning. There's a range of artwork on sale, but no food at this establishment.

Nathan was an excellent host and winemaker for our tasting, and made us feel welcome! Extremely great wines also!

Came by because some of their wines have a high rating on Vivino. Tried a flight of wine and got the Shiraz 2018 and Carb Sauv 2013. The shiraz was my favourite. Bold in flavours and fruitiness. Their wines specialise with a hint of chalkiness that apparently comes from the particular region its grown in. Jo was really friendly and helpful in explaining all the wines during the testing. The wine tasting is free if you buy a bottle from them.
