The Margaret River Golf Club is a private club open to both new members and visitors. The 6092 metre par 72 course is one of Western Australia’s most highly regarded country courses.
The golf course was created by a group of golfing enthusiasts in the early 1950's in a bushland cleared setting near the mouth of the Margaret River and winds its way up and down the slopes of the coastal ridge. This spectacular setting is complemented by an abundance of flora and fauna, native and local trees. The resident kangaroos have been a major attraction for visitors, golfers and non-golfers alike for many years.

Although not heavily bunkered, the course features numerous water hazards, mostly on the front nine holes. The back nine in particular requires careful shot consideration owing to the undulating fairways and large trees.

The Margaret River golf course is in pristine condition year round and at its perfect best during the winter months especially.

Visitors are welcome but bookings are essential. Clubs, buggies and carts are available for hire at the on-course golf shop that also stock a wide range of equipment and essentials.

The clubhouse offers a well stocked bar and stunning views over the course from the verandah.

The bar is open daily from 11am to 7pm during summer. Bar snacks available all day.

Not too bad a course. Lots of kangaroos which was cool but that also meant lots of kangaroo poo on the course. There is a lack of variety of food and drink at the pro shop - we had an early morning tee off and their coffee machine was broken. The bar has coffee but that doesn’t open until 11 am. Quite a narrow course so I ended up hitting lots of trees - luckily most bounced back towards the fairway!

Gem of a course, with a nice warm-up area where you can hit off grass. Greens are impossible to read but in great condition. And the kangaroos live up to the hype.

On our holiday in WA, in July 2020. I booked in to play golf at Margret River golf course in the morning. Was a beautiful day. The staff were very friendly and assisted with explaining the course layout, as I had never played it before. The practice facilities for warm up on is good and electric golf carts for hire too. The pro shop is well equipped with all the good golf equipment you need to enjoy your day. It's is also noteworthy to keep in mind, that most WA golf courses have their greens cored / serviced in March. The golf course is well maintained, and in very good playable condition. It is a good test of your golfing ability when playing off the back tees. Another course off the beaten track, that deserves a visit for a round of golf.

Only played 9 holes starting from 10. The course was great but made more challenging and less enjoyable as half the set hired were left handed clubs which I didn't realize until half way down the 10th. I had pre booked game and clubs but nothing was ready and all a bit rushed.
