Every day is a great day to let people know you love them, but Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse to pull out all the stops and make it a little extra special.

And where better than the beautiful backdrop of the Margaret River Region to set a romantic scene. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more picturesque place for enjoying the most romantic feast day of the year, with quiet beaches, tranquil forests and awesome west coast sunsets over the Indian Ocean.

While Nature feeds the soul, our region’s beautiful wineries and restaurants will feed the stomach – which as we know, is the way to the heart!

Expect fresh produce, unpretentious flavours, fantastic wine and gorgeous surroundings, all served up in a laid back atmosphere that’s become a signature trait of this corner of Australia’s South West.

Perfect Picnics

What could be more romantic than a selection of gourmet treats for two, matched with a glass of some of the regions finest.

The beautiful cellar door of Domaine Naturaliste is nestled right in the heart of Wilyabrup, surrounded by vineyards and shaded by towering gum trees. Enjoy an intimate and informative seated wine tasting, consisting of award-winning chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. For extra points add a delicious cheese board carefully designed to pair perfectly with the wines. There’s no need to rush, after your tasting grab a picnic rug and unwind on the lawn with a glass of chardonnay. Bliss.

Another winery that prides itself on being a perfect picnic spot is Bettenay’s. Graze your way through their nougat and wine tasting experience, or if you prefer simply bring your own favourite foods and purchase a glass or bottle of wine to share while you lounge lakeside. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Margaret River Region the estate is peaceful and serene, ideal for couples looking to relax.
