See Margaret River in Bloom: Wildflower Tours
Conducted by knowledgeable and passionate guides, our tours will provide you with an informative and memorable wildflower experience. Learn about the region's biodiversity and how to spot some of these wondrous floral creations. See if you can recognise the dominant whites and yellows of the Wattles, Hibbertias, and Beardheaths. Or perhaps spot the rich colours of the Cottonheads, Purple Tassles, Fan-Flowers and Flame Peas. And for lovers of the delicate orchid, admire the King in His Carriage, Flying Ducks, Cowslip, Donkey’s and Spider Orchids.
Taking you to the best wildflower hot spots, tours will also include exploring the some of the region’s most spectacular cave systems including Mammoth and Lake Caves. An ancient wonderland of discovery, these breathtaking caves are nestled in the spine of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge and belong to a series of complex and fragile Karst systems which are landscapes formed by the flow of water underground. These systems are often characterised by dolines (large holes), blind valleys, sinking streams and springs. Not to mention being home to significant aquatic invertebrates found only in Western Australia.
Wildflower Tours will operate from the 10th September to 11th November during the 2011 season.
