Enjoy elevated views of the beautiful Blackwood River as it meanders its way to the stunning Southern Ocean... The Augusta Hotel has one of the best outlooks available in the region.
Built in 1912, the Augusta Hotel boasts one of the best views of any hotel in Western Australia. It has a superb river front location high on the banks of the Hardy Inlet, where the Blackwood River meets the Southern Ocean. If you’re looking for accommodation with spectacular views and a central location, then this is the place for you.

The Hotel is a family oriented and child friendly establishment featuring a lounge bar with bistro meals, Jimmy’s Grill, function room and very large grassed outdoor area. The perfect place to watch the whales go by and let the kids run free.

Located just 320 km south of Perth, the Augusta region is one of Australia’s best kept secrets. The idyllic location, breathtaking coastline and natural attractions make it the perfect place to experience the wonders of the South West: the beauty of Southern Right and Humpback Whales in Flinders Bay, two oceans meeting at the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse, the peaceful serenity of Hamelin Bay, the enchanting underground local caves and, of course, the magnificent fishing of both the river and the sea.

The accommodations are basic and very dated but immaculately cleaned and serviced. Unfortunately the walls are thin so do be mindful of other guests. The real star of the show is the restaurant. While the menu is very basic, the steak is fit for royalty and the specials are usually appealing and bring the variety lacking in the everyday menu (but get in early for the specials as they go FAST!). The service in the bar and restaurant is absolutely exemplary. The staff are competent, relaxed and friendly and sincerely go out of their way to address any issues. Having dinner here is a joy.

Ate here for lunch recently. Really good sized pub dishes. Calamari was big, juicy and tender - best we’ve had in a while. Incredible views.

Typical country pub with exceptional views over the beautiful Blackwood River. Decor was very old and dated, could use new floor coverings at the least. Usual pub fare food wise and tasty. I can recommend a visit to anyone looking for a meal, although the menu was very limited. We earlier tried the well renowned fish and chip shop up the street but they had ran out of fish and chips unfortunately 😕

The pub is very nice and the fish and chips very good. Location and view are a thumps up. However Backpackers hostel dorms are way more cleaner. Hopefully they will consider the comments.
