What’s on at Leavers WA 2024

The party and entertainment at the famous Busselton/Dunsborough Leavers Zone runs on the Monday to Thursday night, from 7.00 pm-1.00am. It’s a drug, alcohol and smoke-free (including vaping) space where up to 10,000 Leavers come together to celebrate, festival style.

The Zone has music stages, DJs, Silent Disco, theme nights, carnival rides and more. There will be food trucks, a chill out zone and a fully equipped medical area and youth outreach services also on hand.

A return bus service is included in your event wristband to take you between the major towns by day, as well as the Zone and Meelup BeachFest and Busselton, Dunsborough and Yallingup based accommodation. Make sure you confirm with your accommodation that they are within walking distance of the bus route, or providing an alternative service.

Hit the Leavers Meelup BeachFest on Wednesday 20th November, hosted by Royal Life Saving WA. Bring your boardies, bathers and sunscreen and get ready for a massive exclusive beach party with volleyball, beach activities, DJ, chill zones, beach tents, a food truck frenzy and the stunning Meelup Beach as your backdrop. There’s also lots of shaded grass areas to sit back and play some lawn games with your mates or simply chill and enjoy the down south vibes.

A Guide to Selecting Leavers WA Accommodation

When it comes to Leavers, many accommodation properties across the region go the extra mile to make sure you have a fun and safe Leavers experience. Other than a bed to rest your weary head, many will package up additional activities or services to dial up your Leavers holiday experience, so make sure to ask when you secure your booking.

Things to consider when booking accommodation:

Preference accommodation located within easy walking distance of the official Leavers bus route. Use of the bus service is included in your Leavers 2024 event wristband purchase and is the only way to access the nightly Leavers Zone, Meelup BeachFest and the daytime service connecting the towns and larger accommodation zones in Busselton, Dunsborough and Yallingup.
If a property is not located along the official Leavers bus route, consider how you will gain access to the park n ride access points. Private vehicles (including charter buses, taxis, ubers etc) are not able to access The Zone or BeachFest. Public transport, taxi’s and Uber style on-demand services are limited in regional areas and distances/costs can be prohibitive without a group to split the cost.
Some accommodation operators will also provide in-house activities or meal options as part of the Leavers week package – e.g. pancake breakfast, BBQs, food truck visits, late night supper – make sure your read the inclusions when it comes to weighing up all the options
Some accommodation partners may also provide additional security or 24 hour on-site accommodation support over Leavers to keep you safe while having fun with your mates– with many also reserving their property exclusively to Leavers – take this bonus services into consideration when planning your overall budget

The Busselton and Margaret River Visitor Centres are unable to book Leavers accommodation and most cannot be booked online due to special stay criteria around the event.
