Bistro Breton

The French way

This is like a French getaway, right on your plate. Dive into classic French dishes for breakfast (and lunch) at Bistro Breton, where the menu is split into two delightful worlds: hearty bistro faves and dreamy French crêpes – sweet or savoury, take your pick!

The star of the menu is savoury buckwheat crêpes made from naturally gluten-free flour, traditionally enjoyed as a main alongside homemade delights. A fun twist – these crêpes are just as delicious with sweet toppings, and don’t miss signature dishes like La Terroir and the Croque Monsieur. Bon appétit!

Pullman Bunker Bay Resort

Buffet bliss

Fill your plate, then take a seat in the restaurant or on the terrace if the weather permits, to take in the beautiful bay views. Best of all, you don’t need to be a resort guest to enjoy the breakfast buffet.

Sora Café

Foreshore favourite

Right by the Dunsborough foreshore, Sora Café is your go-to spot for that post-walk coffee, laid-back brunch, or a long lunch with mates. The space is bright and breezy with big, curved windows and a “less is more” Scandi style – it really draws you in to linger a little longer.

The menu pairs local produce with nostalgic flavours and global notes – and you must try the Smoked Salmon Smørrebrød. Made with Merchant & Maker Danish rye bread, dill cream cheese, frissee, pickles, sweet potato miso puree, and smoked salmon sourced from Denmark, it’s absolutely divine.

Lamonts Smith Beach

Beachside brunch

Lamonts secured a reputation for outstanding dining decades ago before Margaret River was on the foodie trail, and Lamonts Smiths Beach does quality beachside brunch with finesse.

A generous stack of pancakes came topped with berries and vanilla-flecked mascarpone, and the coffee was spot-on. We’re coming back to work our way through the rest of the menu – potato rosti with roasted mushrooms and poached egg, and Shakshuka baked eggs with tomato & fire-roasted capsicum sauce are calling! Bonus: they are open 7 days a week.

Goanna Bush Café

Addictive spicy rice

Goanna Bush Café’s Indo Breakfast should come with a health warning: “highly addictive, even the grommets will demand a return visit.” Spiced coconut rice with a fried egg, spinach, avocado, and coriander pesto sounds like an unusual combination, but it works perfectly.

Chef Duncan Timmons made a tree change from a Michelin-starred London restaurant to buy Goanna in 2008, and the word is out – the food here is awesome. Set in picturesque bushland near Dunsborough, it’s the perfect place to relax and linger.

Watch your kids happily fill their bellies before they disappear into the fenced-in playground. While you finish your cuppa in peace.

Drift Café

Egg Florentine favourite

When Colin and Gaye opened Drift Café back in 2014, they thought coffee would steal the show – but the food quickly proved just as big a draw! Using top-quality, local, and seasonal ingredients became the heart of everything they served.

These days, Drift is known for its standout breakfasts, and the Egg Florentine is a firm favourite. Think perfectly poached Margaret River free-range eggs over wilted spinach and organic sourdough from Margaret River Woodfire Bread, all topped with house-made hollandaise and a sprinkle of roasted capers. Go classic, or add bacon or smoked salmon if you’re feeling fancy.

And yes – coffee is still a star. Pair your Florentine with a silky Five Senses latte and drift into your morning.

White Elephant Beach Café

Breathtaking beach views

At White Elephant Beach Café you’ll line up with locals to order, because not only do they have show-stopping views of one of the best beaches around, the food is top-notch too.

Overlooking the shores of Gnarabup Beach, bring your bathers and tuck into a brekkie burger for a traditional bacon and egg fix (sandwiched into a luscious milk bun) or grab the smashed pumpkin with avo, feta, dukkha and poached egg for a colourful, nutritious fix.

Stay warm and dry in their stylish glass-fronted room when the cooler weather rolls in. Views are equally fab when the weather is wild.

Margaret River Bakery

Main street must

A visit to Margaret River is almost no visit to Margaret River without stopping in for breakfast at the icon that is Margaret River Bakery. At least once. Their red and pink sign is unmissable as you enter the township, and so is their well-filled counter with baguettes, focaccias, wraps, pies, toasties, buns, rolls, danishes, croissants and loaves of bread…

This European-style bakery and café has been waking up the main street with the smell of fresh croissants and coffee since the 1960s, and once you step inside, you’ll see why.

WitchyBrews Espresso Bar

Unexpected gem

Amato Vino’s little hole-in-the-wall in Witchcliffe might be small, but it delivers big on flavour. Their WitchyBrews Espresso Bar serves up seriously good coffee (with a double shot as a standard!) and tasty eats – all made with top local produce.

Grab a breakkie wrap – egg & bacon, or a Mexi-bean – or go for a classic toastie, featuring goodies like Sonja’s feta, Farmhouse ham, and Paddock2Produce relishes. You’ll find locally made cookies, brownies, granola bars, and alfajores – plus plenty of dairy- and gluten-free options too.

The Colourpatch Café & Bar
