Set against the spectacular backdrop of Metricup farmland, The Colony Concept a is a specialty Honey and Mead retailer located only 10 minutes from the heart of Margaret River. In store, you will find mead, beer, wine & honey all available for tasting!
Situated in the beautiful countryside of the South West WA region and nestled in the forests against a lake, the focus at The Colony Concept Honeybee Farm is sustainability, and supporting local producers with a "Petal to Pot" and "Paddock to Plate" concept.

The Colony Concept cellar door offers free tastings of over 10 local honey varieties from Southern Forests Honey and of Honey Wine (mead) produced in conjunction with Margaret River Winemakers. There are 5 varieties of Mead and Honey wine all available for tasting - not all of which are sweet!

The retail store covers all of your honey needs with raw, locally produced and sourced honey varieties from creamed honey to medicinal Jarrah and Manuka, all available in multiple sizes and packaging.

Exclusive "Heart of The Hive" natural beauty products can also be found, made with beeswax, native lemon myrtle and essential native oils. The range includes body balms, hair products, soaps and Nannup Tiger Balm - all paraben and SLS free and only available in-store. 

The store  also sells beekeeping tools, suits and hive inserts and during the year they offer a 'Bee Experience', with workshops in beekeeping and sustainable practice that can be booked in advance. Learn safe, ethical and sustainable ways to keep bees at home!

Such an interesting place that sells a huge variety of produce based on honey. The staff are lovely and helpful in explaining all the different products and it really is worth going in person just so you can see (and sample) their ample range of product.
