Finding the right romantic tone for your Margaret River Region experience is without limitation. Natural beauty. Secluded accommodations. Intimate dining experiences. Spending quality time together without the distraction of daily chores and life admin.

Explore your romantic options with these unique experiences that encourage connection and courtship.

Stay

Tree Chalets

This is romance, traditional style: long stem roses, sparkling wine on ice, personalised chalet decorations, and bath-side grazing boards makes a stay at Tree Chalets one for the romantic purists. Not that there’s anything conventional about the chalets themselves. Eco-friendly and tree-surrounded, this is a unique private setting in a Rosegum plantation.

Busselton Villas and Glamping Village

Five minutes walk to a private access beach. Hidden by Peppi trees. Belle tents at Busselton Villas are a five-star stay for the camping enthusiast in your relationship. Tents include Queen-sized beds, beautiful appointments, and are a stroll to town.

Hidden Valley Forest Retreat

Spoil your boo with a romantic escape to remember in one of four accommodation options at the beautiful and contemporary Hidden Valley Forest Retreat in Carbunup. If the outdoor spa baths, in-room spa services, and private chef options are the very baseline of how romance is spelled to you, then go that extra mile with a Romantic Arrival worth the capital letters. We’re talking your room covered and sprinkled in delicate red rose petals, French champagne on ice, and of course, chocolates for two.

Eat

Winery Picnic

At every Margaret River Region cellar door, there’s a different feel. Mr Barval’s boutique cellar door feels like a well-kept secret with its limited volume wines and incredible local cheese selection – perfect for a winery picnic. It’s almost as good as the vineyard views over the quiet lawns.

Long Lunches

Daytime degustation dining is a regional specialty. Superb food and wine are a given which means the real impetus is in choosing the background for your romantic feels. Confident sophistication wrapped in timber and glass is Vasse Felix.

Cape Dutch rose garden beauty meets polished elegance at Voyager Estate. Open and easy architecture houses the casual professionalism of Xanadu Wines. The classic regional experience of fine dining with stunning bush vistas typifies lunch at Leeuwin Estate.

A little further south in Karridale, Glenarty Road is a fifth-generation farm and winery with a warm welcome and thoughtful elegant-rustic environs. The draw card here is most definitely Glenarty’s hosted experiences and restaurant, which is open for either a three- or five-course menu from Wednesday through to Sunday. On Monday, they offer a wholesome main meal instead.

Experience

Sunset at Sugarloaf

West-facing coastlines offer up endless opportunities for romantic sunsets, but the dramatic colours splashing across the granite face of Yallingup’s iconic Sugarloaf Rock is a regional highlight. Spread a blanket and watch the sun dip below the horizon at this dramatic Indian Ocean viewpoint.

Clifftop Romance

A pack on your back stows a bottle of wine and the only sound to disturb conversation is feet on track and a symphony of Indian Ocean sound: walking a section of the Cape to Cape track offers beauty, quiet, and the romance that arises from shared experience.

Spa Indulgence

Being taken care of in an intimate setting where neither needs to lift a finger is capital “R” romance. Remove your shoes, don a robe, and settle in for a couples massage at any one of the region’s luxury spas. From the lake-side spectacular at Bodhi, to the intimate bushscape at Uniquely Balanced, or the polish of Vie Spa at Bunker Bay there is a tone for every taste.

Equine Experience

Maybe your love is an AAA experienced equestrian. Maybe they simply have an unfulfilled childhood horse riding dream. Either way Jesters Flat is an opportunity to experience the region via horseback courtesy of a stunning bush setting and a stable of highly trained Australian Stock Horses. Beach rides. Bush meanders. Five-day treks. In true Margaret River Region style this is the definitive choose-your-own adventure experience for the romantic.
